I'm filling out a housing form for a study abroad program in Russia and we were asked to write a brief letter to possible host families introducing ourselves and explaining why we would like to live with a host family.  I was hoping that someone in the community would quickly scan my draft and point out any mistakes I've made.

Я хочу жить с семьей потому что выучиться русский язык. Я тоже хочу больше понимать культуру. Я думаю, что я буду предипочитать жить с семьей потому что, я живу недалеко от моей семьиб и я привикала к жить с людей.

Hello friends!

I would be very thankful if you would offer me your precious help again! I would need a relatively short sentence (or as many as you can think of :) ) involving a Russian imperfective passive gerund, such as "Но они западали в память и, долго не забываясь, тайно волновали потом.", but a different one with a different verb. I'm trying to find as many Swedish translations to these passive constructions as possible!

how would you say 'to crank' as in an old projector? I need to say, "a Mutoscope, which one/you must crank to see the film inside (through an opening)."

can the word киноаппарат describe any kind of film projector like a Mutoscope, Kinetograph*, etc? is the word зоотроп generally understood?
