"Спасибочки!"

This showed up on a comment for a music video on Youtube. It seems like a diminutive of "Спасибо", but I'm not sure what the feeling behind it. I've never heard of a diminutive of "thank you". Even in Spanish, "graciasitas" sounds really odd and I've never heard anyone say something like that. Could it be a plural?

If someone says this word to you, what does it mean? What are the implications behind it? Is it supposed to be cute?

It is an ironic and slightly disrespective version of "Спасибо".

oh, no. In some cases, you maybe right. But in common case "спасибочки" can be just feminine version of "спасибо" )) and it means "many thanks" only.

Frankly, I have an IQ well above 50 but often use it with all due respect. Does it really sound that bad to you? (at least my intonation doesn't permit any disrespect or ungratefulness)

Not exactly. It can used as disrespective in some contexts, but usually it used as diminutive or humorous form of "спасибо".

So it's basically used to give thanks for something you didn't need? Like, could you use it in this matter?

No, it's not ironic and is not used to convey irony or sarcasm. That said, the irony and/or sarcasm could still be conveyed in the either спасибо or cпасибки through the intoning.

Спасибочки sounds kinda ultrafeminine-blondish-cutish. I believe it could be used more widely in some regions of eastern Ukraine, but I might be mistaken.

In this case in modern runet* you will probably see a 'Спасибо, Кэп!' type of reply referring to Captain Obvious.

* runet (рунет) is a modern Russian term for the Russian speaking part of Internet.
