right wing papers?

 Hi guys,

I wonder if you can give me some pointers.  I'm doing a dissertation on the Yukos affair in the russian papers for which I have to translate 10,000 words.

I think I pretty much know where to look for left-wing views - Novaya Gazetta, Nezavisimaya Gazetta, Kommersant (how left-wing is Kommersant btw?)

But when it comes to right wing views I'm not sure.  What is the political orientation of these papers:

Rossiyskaya Gazetta

Komsomolskaya Pravda

Izvestia

What is the most pro-governemnt in  Russia - Rossiyskie Vesti?

Which of these papers are considered to be quality papers?

sorry, my knowledge of russian is very limited. i'll know MUCH more (hopefully) when i take intensive russian for beginners starting in september.

Academic focus

How would you say "academic focus" in Russian? I do not mean 'major' or specialization (специальность)-- I mean, for instance, that I am studying Russian culture, and my focus is Russian literature of the Silver Century. How would I say 'focus' in this context?

One more quick question.. 

Can настолько be used as an adverb to describe an adverb? I've seen it used to describe an adjective in this way: 

Он настолько добрый, что он не можеть критиковать своих студентов. 

But can it be used like this?

Мы настолько долго не переписывались, что 

or must you simply say "Мы так долго не переписывались, что" ? Thanks!
