Academic focus

How would you say "academic focus" in Russian? I do not mean 'major' or specialization (специальность)-- I mean, for instance, that I am studying Russian culture, and my focus is Russian literature of the Silver Century. How would I say 'focus' in this context?

"С упором на…"?
It might sound just a bit too rough, though. But it is suitable, I suppose.

Other option that comes to mind is:
"С особым вниманием к …".

Both of these imply that you aren't neglecting the things out of focus, but more of your efforts are directed to the particular part of something big and/or complex.

You can say so but you'll use it only in reference to one particular paper you're doing at the moment. Like, В свoей статье я фокусируюсь на... .

Специализация - это не специальность, а более узкое понятие
