How would you say "In Memory of [name]" in russian? D:

also, I took Russian my senior year of high school, but I got sick and missed a lot of it because when I came back, no one would help me. And I couldn't stay after for help because I had to stay after at my Trade school until 3:30 three days a week for Cosmetology and go figure, the other days my Russian teacher wasn't available. So, I was wondering...

What are some good books for learning russian? I'd love to start all over. My hold on the language is wonderful. I picked up on the Cyrillic in less than a month and I memorized it rather quickly. I heard that the "For Dummies" books for Russian are very good, and when I was at my friends college last weekend we looked at the used book section but didn't have much on the language itself. Any recommendations would be great!

Thank you for and to anyone who can help with the books (or sites! I know of Master Russian.. any others? :D) and/or translation! And I'm sorry if I babbled >_>;;

I have an analysis to do on slang for my linguistics class. In short, I want the focus of my project to be Russian slang terms for money. I already know of баксы and бабки, but I need more. What are some slang terms you know of? Slang phrases are also welcome. If you could reply with a few terms and short descriptions of what they mean and when they would be used, that would be great.

Also, when the words штука and лимон are used to signify amounts ("one thousand" and "one million", respectively), does it only apply to money? Or could one use them to speak of an amount of other objects (e.g. "Я прочитал штуку страниц", "В этом городе живет лимон человек")?

Здравствуйте!

I wanted to know if there’s a Russian–English dictionary online that marks the stress in Russian words. Lingvo.ru comes close to being exactly what I need, but it never marks the stress, and so I’m afraid I’ll subvocalize and start pronouncing the words wrong.

Does anyone know of any good sites for this, or should I just use my paper dictionary?

hi there again!
if anyone has the time to look at this and let me know if something is horribly wrong or could be better, i'd greatly appreciate it. this is just what i plan on saying...but as always i'm sure i'll forget a few things here and there!

ok that's all. thanks again for any help or comments! thank you!

this is a screencap from the beginning of Zemfira's music video for Итоги (Results):

my question is about how she wrote the И's like regular English I's. is this common/acceptable in Russian handwriting? i have a feeling my Russian teacher might mark me off if i wrote like that. i just noticed it and was curious. do any of you native speakers/writers of Russian here--or students for that matter--write your И's this way?
