So sorry to keep bugging you guys! Can someone please help me out with this song? I think I have hit official obsession with Russki Razmer. I really love this song and think it is really beautiful, but I just can't seem to translate it correctly. I kept trying but the syntax is REALLY confusing me.

Лети(Fly)

Thank you so much for having pity on my poor soul!

There, where the city is half sky high,
There the wind has spread my wings behind my back.
He's invited me to go with him to the place where there is light,
Where the city will answer all questions
And the wind will tell me:
"Fly
After me."

Rain painted all houses gray.
I will probably be the first to drive him crazy.

...Or the authour of the post may choose lyrics with clearer syntax and better Russian - lyrics that make more sense. :) Sometimes lyrics can even pass for poetry (Владимир Высоцкий, for example; may sound a bit old-fashioned for *LOL* modern youth. That's Russian Joe Dassin/George Brassens, so to speak).

Of course, I wouldn't dare to critisize one's tastes in music; but if we are speaking of the lyrics as a source of linguistic information - that's different and "Русский Размер" might not be the best.

P.S. Yes, I am a snob, but that's not the point. *LOL*
