hey guys. So I am trying to practice for a test I will have. I need to write a paragraph about Мой любимый герой.
I am having trouble with this paragraph. I am worried there are tons of conotations different to the english ones with the adjectives. We haven't touched punctuation, and apparently commas are very different than in english, so don't worry about correcting them.

The words in [square brackets] are words I wouldn't know how to translate into russian.

1. Шарик мой любимый герой. Мне очень нравится его потому, что он просто, счастьливый и скромный.

2. Шарик, как его имя, просто.

3. По-моэму он [comes off/seems] [real/relatable].

4. Я думаю, что у него одного характора, и всегде показывал только настоящий характор.

5. Потому что у него одого характора, он не как кот, Печкин или Мурка, у которых [hidden] характоров. и вообще он просто.

6. Потому что он просто, иногда он смешной. На пример, когда он думал, что они пошли в складе.

извиниться/to excuse oneself

Once in my journal I said "извиняюсь" (literally "I excuse myself") to mean "excuse me," and all the native Russian speakers replied in unison that this is a bad form that should never be used, because it doesn't make logical sense. (Not making logical sense is a poor reason for not using an expression, but that's irrelevant, I guess - the point is, "извиняюсь," much like "звОнит," is improper Russian, even though people use it in regular speech.)

Question, then: are all forms of the verb "извиниться" equally improper? Or just the first-person singular present tense is wrong? e.g. is it just as bad to say "он извинился", or is that ok?

Finding Russian videos with Russian subtitles

I'm trying to find Russian videos with Russian subtitles on the Internet. I find Russian videos with English subtitles, or English videos with Russian subtitles, but very few Russian-Russian.

I know that Русские субтитры means "Russian subtitles" but it's mostly yielding English-Russian vids.

I also know that my Russian-search-fu is poor, but getting better (I can find lyrics to Russian songs, now!), so if you have any hints on great search terms to find this it would be amazing.

Help?
