- Is this the correct usage of the verbs изучать, заниматься, and учиться?

1. обычно я занимаюсь в парке.
2. моя сестра изучает искусство.
3. в каком университете вы учитесь?

- In the prepositional case, do you say "в доме?"

- Is this how to say "He asks what book she is reading?" он спрашивает какая кчига она читает

- Is this a correct way to say "They love Russian opera and Russian ballet?" они любят русскую оперу и русский балет

- Is this correct to say "Fedor is writing letters to his friends?" фёдор пишет письма его своим друзьям

- Is this how to say "Previously I worked on a magazine?" раньше я работала на журнал

Я хочу порекомендовать сайт: www.gramota.ru На сайте есть практически все словари русского языка, в том числе и толковые, можно проверить орфографию и т.д.  Буду признательна, если кто-нибудь правильно переведет это на английский.

Hello from Germany !

I have a question for the German community members. My German-speaking friends want to learn Russian, but don’t know which learning material would be best to use. I haven’t the faintest idea; could you recoomend me which books would be good? It’d be better if they had DVDs and CDs attached.

Frage an die deutschen Teilnehmer der Community. Meine deutschsprachigen Bekannten möchten Russisch lernen, wissen aber nicht welche Lernmittel kann man dafür am besten verwenden. Da ich keine Ahnung habe, könntet Ihr mir welche Bücher (wäre besser mit CD/DVD) für sie empfehlen ?

У меня вопрос для немецкоговорящих членов сообщества. Мои немецкие знакомые хотят изучать русский, но не знают какие учебные пособия подходят для этой цели лучше всего. Поскольку я не имею понятия, не могли бы вы мне порекомендовать некоторые книги (было бы лучше с CD/DVD приложением) ?

Hay everyone

Is there some kind of generic word for "artist"?

I'm kind of an illustrator/graphic designer. In English I tend to just tell people I'm an artist. But in Russian I'm never really sure what to say. There's художник but I think that's a painter, and I mostly work digitally, or with ink and markers, etc. I've heard художник-оформитель too but who wants to say that every time you introduce yourself? (unless you have to...)

Is my translation sort of correct?
