I'm trying to find Russian videos with Russian subtitles on the Internet. I find Russian videos with English subtitles, or English videos with Russian subtitles, but very few Russian-Russian.

I know that Русские субтитры means "Russian subtitles" but it's mostly yielding English-Russian vids.

I also know that my Russian-search-fu is poor, but getting better (I can find lyrics to Russian songs, now!), so if you have any hints on great search terms to find this it would be amazing.

Help?

ps. thanks, everyone, for help on translating the New Years card.

I think there are actually few Russian-Russian subtitles. Making subtitles on native language is not very popular except for English (AFAIK). E.g. I tried very hard to find Serbian-Serbian subtitles but completely failed.

It was a common practice befor mid-90s to show some movies and broacasts on TV with subtitles for deaf. Another question is where to find them. News on 1st TV channel (http://ru.youtube.com/results?search_query=%D0%9D%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%BE%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B8+1+%D0%BA%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B0%D0%BB&search=Search) are still featured with subtitles, but they are shortened respect to spoken words and hardly synchronized.

Have you seen these (http://kommunalka.colgate.edu/cfm/v_tours.cfm?KommLanguage=Russian)? They're not movies... and not subtitled, but transcripted. So not exactly what you're looking for, but they're fairly interesting and there's a lot of them.

More helpfully, I guess if the subtitles are in the same language as the video then they're actually captions. Searching for "с титрами" on Youtube seems to give a lot of promising results.

I just double-checked, subtitry.ru DOES have Russian subtitles for Russian movies, so check it out.

Are you looking for any particular movie? Or any particular style of movies? If so, maybe, we'll be able to help you find one.

Try throwing quotes around "Русские субтитры". Google can be your friend if you just tell it exactly what you want.
