a friend just wrote me a letter and i am trying to figure out if he made a typo or if he used something i don't understand.

Приезжал Гленн - тут такое было! Многого и не расскажешь.

i put in the first sentence for context, but it is the second sentence that i am a bit confused about. why the extra го? it that a typo or does it have a meaning?

I was wondering if anyone could check these sentences for grammatical accuracy? I'm trying to learn vocab words, so that's the main purpose here, but proper grammar is good too. The sentences aren't always supposed to make logical sense, since I'm just using the vocab I need to know, so the words don't always fit together, but as long as it is grammatically correct, that's what matters. Translations of what it is meant to say next to the sentences.

After enjoying the irony of 'Я не говорю по-русский' (is that spelling correct btw? I've been focusing on speech more than written Russian), I feel it is time to move on. How would I say 'I speak a little Russian'?

Also, thought I'd introduce myself. I joined this group a month or two ago and have been watching from the sidelines. I live in Sydney, Australia, my girlfriend and her family are all form Russia, hence the interested in the language. so, Hi!

Hello everyone!

I'm not sure if this is the right community to do so, but it's worth a shot.

Can anyone reccommend a good book, program or whatever to re-familiarize oneself with Russian?

I studied for a semester in Russia and learned a lot of the language, but just when I was really getting a good grip on the language, I had to go back to the states. Unfortunately, I was unable to really keep up with learning the language once I got back....graduating and finding a job pretty much had to be my top priorities.

However, I'm considering going back sometime in the near future and I would really like to brush up on my skills again. I still know the alphabet very well and I can still remember some basic phrases and words. I just really want to expand on that.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help! :-)
