Hi, everyone! I was wondering, what would be the best way to translate the term "think tank" into Russian? I've heard фабрика мысли used to describe it-- is this a fitting translation? Also, what's the best way to say "public policy center" in Russian?

Thanks!

How do you say "guitar pick" in Russian? I can't find it in any of my dictionaries. :(

Hi everyone!
I hope it’s not off-topic.
I’d like to practice English with someone for whom it’s native language and who wants to practice Russian with Russian native-speaker. Here, in Moscow. For example, we can meet once a week and talk about life, politics, weather etc. Half an hour in English, half an hour in Russian. I believe it’d be useful for both of us.

So I am curious about transliteration of Russian words into the Latin alphabet. Is it OK to use "j" instead of "y" for the letter "я", i.e. to write "do svidanija" instead of "do svidaniya"? I have seen it done both ways, but I personally like the way it looks with the j better. Am I in the minority, or are both variations acceptable?
