It's kinda hard to explain. When somebody is totally absorbed by some ideas, the say 'Он заморочился'.
For example. "Я заморочился по поводу того, нужны ли мне серьезные отношения". A person thinks about serious relationship veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery much! So, we can say, that serious relationship is a ЗАМОРОЧКА here..)))
Заморочка is the topic of the action called заморачиваться.

As a failsafe translation here, I'd advise "peculiarities", with some loss of picturesqueness (if there's such a word).

"Заморочки" is a synonym to "тараканы в голове", when referring to some bizzare or otherwise fanciful, unique, unusual aspects of person's way of thinking.
Also synonym to "чудачества", "причуды".

Some context may help to decide, whether "личные" in your example means "personal" as in attributed traits or as in related with person's problems with something within his circle of contacts.

imo заморочка can't be what makes you заморачиваться, but rather the fact that you заморачиваешься or the process of it :)
