In Russian translation, the famous "...For Dummies" book series ("Internet For Dummies," "Rocket Science For Dummies" etc.) is exactly "...для чайников" ("Интернет для чайников", "Ядерная физика для чайников" etc.) -- note that when most English speakers say "rocket science," meaning something Too Smart For Us Simple People, Russian speakers more likely say "ядерная физика" (Nuclear physics) or "высшая математика" (high math.)

Even more probably they'll say Сопромат.
As in "Сопромат для чайников".
That's the harshest course most people have to take at technical university in Russia.

What exactly does a сопромат course entail?

сопромат means strength/resistance of materials (architecture terminology)

Nobody mentioned it & this is not evident: сопромат stands for СОПРОтивление МАТериалов.

Well, in your opinion, which course is hardest?

There is another one, Начертательная геометрия, but that's hard at hand job not at understanding. That's what I say historically, I had neither.

I know - this course is usually called the harderst.

The harderst is obviously the course where the lecturer doesn't know his job.

Well, let's say "usually the hardest".

Otherwise: You're right, of course.
