Oчи черные

I bought a CD of Владимир Высоцкий about a year ago, and I really liked not only the sound of the song Очи черные, but also whatever sense I can make out of it, which is not much. I finally decided about fifteen minutes ago to look for the full text of it online, and found this, which is pretty cool, but, except for the first verse, not the text of the song. Does anyone know where I can find it? Suddenly this song I thought was merely kind of cool turns out to be making a reference back to something much older, and now that I know what the much older thing is, I'm a hundred times more eager to figure out what's going on in the song!

Edit: Towards the beginning, he sings something like

Поцелуй меня, и мне нравишься.
Поцелуй меня; я травился.
Поцелуйч меня; потом я тебя;
Потом вместе мы поцелуемся.

I don't know if I've transcribed that part right, but it's the best I could do. Does it ring any bells?

Can you recall whatever you know of this song? Even random words? 'Cause I'm quite familiar with V.V.'s songs and know at least 4 of them where Очи черные are mentioned, so it'd be useful to have some clarification.

Hehe. Not quite, although it helps to narrow it down! Apparently the refrain is pretty common, because what cema also doesn't match! The one I'm thinking of has a refrain that matches exactly the first stanza of the link I gave, and includes the part cema corrected. Goodness! How many versions are there? How popular is that original poem? (Is that poem the original?)

The original one is a timeless classic in Russian culture, so popular that it became an equally timeless cliche. It was sung by various and sundry, in a multitude of variations. I wouldn't call this one a true VV's song - it's more a bit of a joke or a stilisation.

Vysotsky is fantastic, check out all his stuff. I got an mp3 CD of a bunch of his stuff in Moscow. So many good songs...

Hahaha! The version I've always heard was the one you found online (played by the Old World Folk Band), which I find quite funny. I never knew it wasn't the real one. Unless there are different "real" versions.

Also, download "Scorchi Chorniye" by the Red Elvises if you can. It's mostly in English and is very funny.
