One of LiveJournal's Russian members has created a new meme. I can translate it (well, except for a couple of words that aren't in my dictionary) - the point seems to be to see who has the longest sausage-chain of usernames. What I'm curious about is if this sausage game is something that the author made up or if it's a twist on an old game. If it's an old game, how does it work?

BTW there's much less "secondary" dirty meaning of the word "колбаса" in Russian than that of the word "sausage" in English.

I suspected that, since it didn't seem like the author was doing it for giggles. (And someone would never create and English game with the name "Play Sausage" without being aware of that secondary meaning...)

Babelfish can be a useful tool, but the translations it supplies are often gibberish. Because of this (and because this community exists for people learning Russian), we would like people to continue following that rule.
