There's a store in town called Europ Market that sells a lot of Eastern European food items and cooking supplies. I recently saw one of their ads in a local paper and under the title Euro Market it said Русский Магазин. Knowing the meaning of "Русский" and the French word magasin (store, shop) I put two and two together and guessed that that Русский Магазин must mean "Russian Store."

Just wanted to share this little "joys of language learning" story with you all.

I live in a bit south of you (near Portland, but still in Washington) and we have Russian Magazines all over the place. I was just thinking that very thing yesterday...hmmmm ESP.

Oh yes, a HUGE Russian population. They have officially taken over the area, which is great in my opinion because I'm a bit of a Russophile.

It's funny that I know Russians in Seattle very good (I have a friend there who owns the local Russian radio, Radio Avrora, and I stayed with the guy all four times that I have visited Seattle) and I think I have even heard the ad of this same store on Radio Avrora (I'm even afraid that it was me who was in fact SAYING this ad - Igor asked me to record a few ads with my Muscivite pronounce which I gladly did for him...)
But i've been in Portland twice and never heard about Russian population over there, since my friend who I came to visit was Italian American :)
