I was just wondering if anyone could recommend some Russian bands/singers... My personal theory is that listening to people singing in Russian will help me with my pronounciation. :) So could anyone name some bands/singers that sing in Russian and that I might like [and I could get on Ebay :)]? I like mostly pop/rock music. My favourites of the moment are the Rasmus, HIM, Evanescence, Ani Difranco, Liz Phair, Paula Cole, and poppy stuff like Shakira and Savage Garden. And Tatu. :)
Anyway, so does anyone know any Russian bands/singers that are similar?

No...I don't have paypal, but checking your profile you're in the Netherlands...hm

I think I can trust some Euros (or even better, glorious British pounds: damn isn't it so stupid not having the Euro?!?!) being stuffed into an envelope to reach my address in the UK and then I can get my mother to throw it into my account. Once she tells me it's arrived I'll rip the music and send it off to you :)

It's not ideal I know but if you can think of a better way I'm open to ideas :)

Costs:
A decent cd-r will cost about 20/40 rubles, so let's make that an average 30 (just over 1 us Dollar) plus postage (another or 20 per disk I guess) and you're looking at about 1/1.5e per cd. Make it 2e to ensure all costs are covered and I get a bit of change for chocolate?

Bargin eh?

Now lets see...these are the cds I have:

B2 - two albums, although "Miaow kiss me" (rubbish title) is the better one. I suspect a new album is on it's way soon. In fact looking at their site it allegedly is, but I haven't seen it!
Splean - their two most recent albums, I prefer the slightly older one myself.
Brat 2 soundtrack
Glukoza - current album, bought it last week...ooooh it's bad!

Other stuff:

Leningrad - sometimes obscene Russian SKA stuff. Silly.
Pilot - a sort of semi-alternative soft rock band who I forgot to mention before
Tatu - the Russian version of their album (all songs in Russian)

No Zemfira, Chicherina or Nochni Snaiperi but I might be able to borrow some off other teachers.

I can buy others at the market if you really want them and post those on - about 4us/3e each they'll be.

Check out these sites if you want a little more info:

Have fun :)
