Hello,

A friend of mine is wondering if someone knows a good web source for an intermediate student of Russian. What he wants is a source of relatively simple texts, preferably with stresses indicated, best of all - accompanied with audio tracks. (The guy is French and Russian stresses is a big problem for him). I suggested sites of radio broadcasters like echo.msk.ru, but I am sure there must be something somewhere which is easier to use and more suitable for students.

Ideas?

PS He's got a decent vocabulary and understands written Russian. The problem is oral communication.

Tnx

My students are almost done with "Troe iz Prostokvashino"  book - and they just love it. They are adults and I am looking for the next book to read with them - something modern enough ( they are tired of Chekhov;-). What would you suggest?

Okay, so I'm leaving Ukraine in 4 days, after having spent 2 years here. I was going through old papers and notebooks I'd written in and I came upon a story I wrote. It made me laugh so hard that I cried, totally due to the mistakes.

So I'm NOT asking that anyone correct these mistakes, but that you have a laugh along with me. These are mistakes I made around 1 to 2 months in to learning Russian.

I wrote this story. I loved writing stories and found them very motivating for me.

* This was my conjugation of the word парен aka "boyfriend", not "porn" :)

So yeah, this made me laugh so hard, from the misspelling of Director to saying that someone HOWLED "Sergei" instead of "was" Sergei, especially when they "howled convincingly" hahahahaa

Hope you enjoyed it and got some laughs.

Oh, and typing that with all the mistakes was REALLY HARD TO DO. It's nice to see where you came from. I just had my Russian tested and i earned an "Advanced Low" which is great especially considering I couldn't even recognize Russian letters when I first started learning 2 years ago. :)
