Hey. I am Alina from California, live in Germany. I am trying to learn Russian, but I am pretty bad at it so far.
I would love to practice with someone who can help me out.

Anyway, I was wondering if "мир" really means both 'peace' and 'world'. If so, how do you say world peace?
большое спасибо ♥

Purely out of curiosity...

What is the symbol that I've seen before the number of a Russian school? (I mean the one that looks like an upside-down "r".) Is it the same as the symbol we use in English, #, meaning "number"? And is it only used with schools, or with other things, too?

Thanks!

Edited to add: Never mind, it's a silly question. My browser shows the symbol incorrectly, it's really very simple: №

How do you mix tenses in Russian? For example to say "I think my Russian class will be canceled."
From what I've learned the verb following the future tense of быть needs to go back to infinitive form...

Also, how would you say the equivalent to 'belated happy birthday' ?

Thanks in advance
