Does anyone have any experience with any English-Russian/Russian-English speech-to-speech, or text-to-speech, and etc. handheld translating devices? I've been looking at some of these from Ectaco and to say that the prices are quite high would be an understatement --I don't want to put a decent amount of money into something that I am unsure of.

Any recommendations or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I am starting to learn Swedish.
Are here any native Swedes who are learning Russian?
We could be penpals! Just comment on this post or come to my LJ.

Can anyone please tell me or link me to reliable information concerning how far 1000 USD will go for a 3-4 week stay in Moscow and a few days in St Petersburg?

I will have accommodation covered aside from the few nights I spend out of Moscow. I do not plan on spending money on commodities necessarily when I can spend it on travel and sightseeing.

Also, can anyone recommend a community on Russia where questions such as the one I have posed are more suited than in a community primarily on language issues? :-P

Thanks in advance for any help you may provide. :))))

Greetings!

I Recited my Russian Poem in Class on Friday, and I got my mark back today.
A+!
He said that it was one of the best he'd ever heard.
Which brings me to my next request.
The next poem we need to do is called Парус
I was wondering if anyone knew of an audio file for this poem?

Also, I'm looking for "sweet nothings" that'd you'd whisper into your partner's ear in Russian.
*Blush* Yeah...

Edit: Yeah, the http://max.mmlc.northwestern.edu/~mdenner/Demo/texts/sail.html is too dramatic. It rises and falls too much to be an effective aid. While it's probably doing the poem justice, it's too poetic. Sorry.
