just a few questions

I know that it's silly to try to translate English phrases into Russian, so I'm now wondering if anyone knows the Russian equivalent (note, not exact word-for-word translation) of the following phrases:

Why even bother? -

Why do I even bother? -
(Meaning, "Why do I even bother to talk/discuss this subject with you?")

to be comfortable with one's own sexual orientation -

(As in the following sentence: "Your extreme hatred of gay people, causes me to wonder if you are comfortable with your own sexual orientation.")

NOTE: I have no "agenda" in this community. Just looking for help with my Russian. So, please no nasty comments.
