Hey, everyone. I was wondering if there are any simple (or not so simple) tricks to telling where the stress on a Russian word is. I only recently learned the whole "if an adjective ends in ой, the ой is stressed" rule, and I read a lot more Russian than I hear, so I figure I'll probably learn better pronunciation if I know where the stresses go.

Спасибо.

Just to make sure that I don't disseminate incorrect information, I ask you:

Breakfast cereal. What do you call it, in general?
Напитки - это не обязательно значит алкогольные, правда? I ask only because this book puts only alcoholic drinks under the "Напитки" heading, then puts tea, coffee, water and juice under the "молочные продукты" heading, which is OBVIOUSLY wrong, but makes me question my sanity.

Спасибо!

Any of you guys interested in footing an IRC channel, for those of us with those questions that need answered fast/just to practice?

Or do any of you know of any IRC channels like this?
