I’m looking for a e-mail penpal to practice my English language (which is very bad, as you can see). In my turn I can help someone who want to practice Russian :).
If anyone knows a site or a lj community concerned in such things, any help will be appreciated. Of course if any person from this community is interested, you are welcome.
Thanks in advance, and sorry if posts of that kind are prohibited in this community.

Hi everyone!

When I was in Latvia last year, I subsisted on Double Coffee fare (miam!) and discovered the joy of оладьи.

Today, feeling inspired, I went searching for a recipe that would recreate this culinary marvel (okay, I might be waxing poetic).

I found this one. It asks for рукола. Question: what is рукола? A google search has yielded no help, except to show me that it is some sort of green leafy food. What would it be in English?

Also, does any one have a good recipe of оладьи they would like to suggest? :o)

в vs на? I know that  на is supposed to be use as "on" and "with activities," but I'm not 100% sure what it means by "with activities." Could someone give me some clear-cut (simple sentence) examples?

A few questions:

1. What does this mean?
Что у вас поют на Новый год?

2. Can you use что-нибудь in place of что-то here? If no, why not.
Ты играешь что-то очень знакомое.
