It's a very colloquial and rare word. While I can find many references to the verbs микитить and смикитить and know their primary meaning, I can hardly find anything on подмикитить and exactly what it stands for. Google and yandex return only about a dozen hits combined, all rather inconclusive. Gramota.ru does not have this word in its dictionaries either. Does somebody know what the verb is supposed to mean? And there may be multiple meanings.

I can definetely say this word does not exist in Russian.
I just conjecture it is local dialect word.

+1 to the first comment, basically.

Still, Yandex does know the word, and I suppose "подмикитить" has a meaning similar to "смикитить", i.e. сообразить, придумать, догадаться, and probably "обеспечить" too, in some contexts.

Can't say the meanings are that different. They are mainly within the slang meanings of "сообразить" or "замутить".

You'd better try [livejournal.com profile] yazyk_moi, [livejournal.com profile] dialekt_ru or even [livejournal.com profile] ru_etymology, I guess they'd be more helpful. :)

"микитки" = ribs
"под микитки" = hit under ribs
I think you can understand this verb as an action (taken from context) in stress situation.

Well, to me it doesn't :>
I think, it's along the line of сообразить (including the slang meaning) - устроить - учудить

I agreed this version. "Взять под микитки" = hardly grab someone by the chest. Catch someone.

I meet idiom "подмикитить" in sense of 'cross up' someone. Make problems for someone.
Similar: "подкузьмить".

Then more of a context is required.

подмикитить == усовершенствовать, сделать лучше, починить сломанное
подмикитить кому-либо == внести изменения, умышленно вредящие кому-либо (meaning depends on context)
"под микитки" is not the same
