I was curious as to how to say, "she worries about me" and thought to use" безспокой" but the dictionary uses "тревожится".  Which is more appropriate?

безспокой is not a word. The verb is беспокоиться in infinitive and беспокоится in present singular.
Беспокоиться and тревожиться are synonyms, you can use either one.

It is pre-1918 spelling. And it is not безспокой anyway.

Беспокоится is more common. Тревожится is rather stronger and sometimes loftier.

Она беспокоится обо мне, тревожится обо мне (Google has 2330/349, respectively).
Она беспокоится за меня, тревожится за меня (similar numbers).

I have a question that piggy backs on this one a bit.

Whenever someone wanted to tell me not to worry, I heard "Не переживай" and "Не вольновайся" (sp) what felt like interchangeably. Is there a preference for one or the other in certain circumstances or is it interchangeable?

I'm just giving another possible variant. My Russian teacher has said that they're about the same, but you'd be more likely to see the волноваться variants in the news because беспокоиться is more colloquial.

Also, I don't think that seanseansean was necessarily telling you which one was more correct, just that you conjugated волноваться incorrectly (-ова- stem will become -уй-). I haven't heard переживай much, but I'm also not a Russian.

Heh, this reminds me of something my Russian friends often said to me. (I guess I tend to get worried a lot?) There are two characters on the comedy show Наша Раша, the краснодарские пацаны. One is always trying to get the other to do stupid things, and when the second one says he's worried, the first says, "Да ты успоКОЙся!" ("Chill out!", basically.) Anyway, I'm not sure what the point of this comment is, except that that's something Russians say (with the intonation from the TV show), especially young'uns.

I've seen Наша Раша, but I haven't seen that particular skit. Frankly I found the show страшная, but the episodes I saw generally had cultural humor and references that were.... less likely to be applied to the real world by me ;)

Yeah, I've actually never seen the sketch either... my friends explained it to me so I'd get why they kept quoting it. On the whole, I'm not a fan of Наша Раша. :)

Не вольновайся - WRONG: it's не волнуйся (stress on У)/
Yes, they are more or less interchangeable, except не переживай is more something that has to do with the aftermath of an event (у тебя убежала любимая черепаха? - не переживай) and не волнуйся with the actual event (тебе будут удалять зуб? - не волнуйся). They can still interchange, though.
