I have to write some "official-sounding" letters in Russian and I am wondering how to translate the following:

1) "applicant" - does this translate to кандидат?

2)  "You have been selected to..."

3)  "Please take note of the following:"

4)  "You are responsible for..."

5)  "I look forward to meeting you."

If anyone can help me, I'd be much obliged!  Thanks!

1) "applicant" - does this translate to кандидат?
not necessarily; could be anything, from соискатель to абитуриент. Please provide more context.

2) "You have been selected to..."
ditto

3) a very generic version will be "просим учесть следующее" but again I would ask for context

4) вы несете ответственность за...
на вас возлагается обязанность...
context!

5) I don't think there is a direct equivalent for this in Russian business correspondence. If you are writing to a friend you could say С нетерпением жду нашей встречи.

I'm sorry, I can't give much more context than this: Someone has applied to take part in something and their application was successful.

Are there not set phrases for these types of things in business correspondence?

3) Пожалуйста, запишите следующее..
4) Вы ответственны за..
5) Мы ожидаем встречи с вами..

I believe they would change depending on context.

2) and 3) are wrong for sure, 4) is possibly wrong too but we have no context to decide that

You could at least tell us this:
"You are responsible for..." - is this as in "you are responsible for paying your own expenses" or "you are responsible for your own behaviour"?

What other context do you need to translate "You have been selected (to do something)"?

All the context there is, because it could be anything:
Вы прошли во второй тур конкурса красоты
Вы приняты в университет
Вас выбрали для участия в телевизионной программе "Поле чудес"

"You are responsible for your expenses."

or, somewhat simpler
Вы сами должны оплатить свои расходы (проезд, проживание)

The first two mean totally different things than "you have been selected' in English.

a) You have advanced to the second round of the contest.
2) You have been accepted to university.
3) You have been selected to participate in a television program.

What I was asking about is the third option, when a person has been selected to do something.
