Accents

Is there any way to add accents when typing with the standard Cyrillic alphabet?

Both tha`t and anOther looks on уродски, complicates readability and causes an emetic reflex. Is better to use usual methods of allocation — a semiboldface font or italics, depending on that what character of the text. If this small exercise — is better to use a semiboldface tracing if it is the long text in which not necessary to distract attention of the reader black bold symbols — use italics.

Still it is possible to use special symbols with «é», it will complicate readability, but will look not so блевотно as so «`Ие» analogues :))

Лично мне выделение заглавными буквами видится вполне приемлемым, если это не целый текст, оформленный таким образом. А для текстов, думаю, это должно решаться установкой специальных шрифтов с ударением.

I assume you want to mark stress with acute accents, like in dictionaries or learners' books?

You can use combining diacritics if you're using unicode and a font that supports them. These might not display correctly for everyone, but if it's for your own reference or for printing, then it will probably work out fine.

If you're using Windows, you can find the combining acute accent by going to the character map. I usually just copy & paste because I'm lazy and can't memorize keyboard shortcuts.

That is very odd. I've never had trouble with it.

It depends on what you call typing.
There are cApital lEtters.
There are clors, italic, bold, etc.
There are latin-1 letters áéóúý which you can use instead of cyrillic.
There's the combining acute acent character U+769 (наприме́р → наприме́р).
Finally, you can use backspace+apostrophe on the typewriter or printer.
Etc, etc, etc.

you can download fonts which have the accents. I forgot where I found mine, though. Google it!

Lamers. Under Windows, Alt+769 after the stressed letter. Warning: in Verdana font the accent mark is misplaced. And I recall that this question was asked and answered in this community recently.

Please be polite, not everybody is as computer-savvy as you and I.

And then simply Alt+769 didn't work. At least it didn't for me on my notebook.
I'm not sure exactly why (getting a face character) and that's with both Russian and English/US International layouts. At the same time Alt+129 results in a Б just fine.

However, I was able to copy the combining acute accent (U+0301) from charmap.exe and paste it in notepad.exe (yes, had to use the Verdana font too). However, the pasted combining accent combined with following character (to the right of the cursor) and not the preceding.

Here is the only way to stress the letters: áéóúý

These ones: ударЕние, ударение, удар'ение and so on can be used, but it's not right. Ударéние - this is the way you should go! :)

In MS Word, after the vowel which you want to accentuate, type 0301 and then Alt+X. The digits will appear as they are typed, but the magic combo Alt-X will remove the digits and the preceding letter will get a stress accent. By the way, this letter doesn't have to be a vowel. This operation will combine the acute accent with any letter.
