Could you please tell me the infinitive form of the verb and its meaning? (I am still a beginner of Russian:)) I speak fluent Czech and to me it would sound like Czech "dávat", to give. Sometimes the similarities between Czech and Russian can be so confusing!:(

"Мне хорошо давалась математика" -- "The maths had been easy for me". I doubt that anybody would use the second variant in the same context, it doesn't sound right. The difference between "давалась" and "далась" is that the former is imperfective, when the latter is perfective.

First sentence is in form of Past Perfect Continuous or Past Perfect.
Second - Present Perfect or Past Perfect.
