Hi all!
How would you translate into Russian "That's what I expect!" - in the following situation: you make a reservation and the manager tells you not to worry because everything will be done properly. You say - "That's what I expect!" - meaning that it's his job to do everything properly, why he tells that to you?!
How would you say it in a fluent, easy way?
Thank you!

"Я надеюсь!" - but this would sound slightly rude
"Я в этом не сомневался(лась)!" - that would probably be OK

"Это то, чего я ожидаю! - doesn't sound good, does it?.."

Literal translation isn't good here. Just say - "Надеюсь!" =)

Nope - "Это то, чего я ожидаю!" sounds like "Вот что я люблю" ("I'm loving it", Russian version) slogan by McDonalds.

"Не сомневаюсь!", "Надеюсь!" (somewhat ironical) can be used.

"Я надеюсь" is fine. You could also say something like "очень бы хотелось" - again somehow sarcastic, but more subtle.

Frankly speaking, in Soviet countries a situation when you make a reservation and the manager tells you not to worry because everything will be done properly appears to me rather odd.. ) I can imagine just another story: you make a reservation and the manager tells you that there are no vacancies for the nearest three months and when you're trying to get at least something he tells you to go to hell %) I'm afraid service is not so polite at all %) But may be I'm just too pessimistic...) Try it out and share with us your experience %)

Soviet countries are gone. In any big city there are very solid (expensive of course) hotels with good service. So it all depends on what hotel to use - surely there are bad ones as well - but that's a worldwide thingie, isn't it?

P.S. At least in Odessa - there are quite a few good ones. Dunno about Gomel.

Yes, they are gone but the mentality is still there. And afaik people are not so quick to smile and to help you even if it's their job, not only in hotels, I mean any service in general. Comparing to the Western variant and mentality of course.

Wake up, it's 2007, not 1987 :) Although in Belarus time goes slower, according to my experience with your country (I visit there a couple times a year.)

Well, yes, Belarus is somewhat back in time a bit, "застряла" I would say %) Alas..

Best one I think... Polite but a bit ironical (use intonation, with an accent onto "очень", highlighting that you are rely and depend on his/her duty done well)

he tells that to you because it's not always the case - probably it's more like a cultural difference

Конечно/спасибо - would also work fine

if being rude:

it's not a direct translation tho.

If you wanna be a bit rude, say to this manager -
