[identity profile] krepsen.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] learn_russian

I have heard a few versions of saying/bending "good morning" in Russian.
Can someone please tell me the correct way?

Thanks:)

I cannot think of any one besides "Доброе утро"

"С добрым утром" for example :)

Just a note: it would be more correct to use conjugate for verbs and decline for cases, instead of "bend", which is a norwegianism. :) (I also spent a lot of time remembering the difference).

...I am just curious/stupid enough to want that to be explained to me. =^_^=;

I know what "conjugate" and "decline" mean, but what's bending?

Don't say so, it's a kind of offencive phrase (i mean "жесткая была ночь" и "дорова, пьянь" - it means "the night was hard" and "he-yo, drunkard")

Right!
Or "Здравствуйте дорогие друзья" to the group of your friends.

You'll be certainly right if you say "Доброе утро". It is correct 100%

There are some different ways to say this, all are correct - it is just small differences, like in dialects.

"Доброе утро!" - most common way, just "Good morning"
"С добрым утром!" - "(My greetings) with a good morning"
"Доброго утра!" - not so much used, but existing also "(May you have) a good morning".

When someone tells you "Доброе утро", the ordinary answer can be "Какое оно нафиг доброе?" (Kakoe ono nafig dobroe?)

The origin of this answer is that morning is usually not a very good time for most of Russian people...

Hi, everyone!
This is a great community I've stumbled upon. Can make an interesting morning read for sure and also give me the chance to help more people to learn my native language.

On the subject. Here is a reply you can use for "доброе утро" if you're not in a very good mood (Monday morning, for example) or just wanna sound sarcastic:
"Если оно доброе", meaning "as if it's really good".
And yes, lots of people say just "утро" sometimes, including myself. :)

if ur interlocutor is programmer\computer system administrator and u want to make an impression, also u can rise ur hands at the angle of 120 degree and growl "ПРЕВЕД!" (note: don't mix it up with ordinary greeting "привет").

Oh, there are so many variants. The most popular is just "Доброе утро". But you can use "Утро!", "Доброе!", "Доброго утречка", "С добрым утром", "Утро доброе", etc.
