Help with a letter

Hello, I am studying abroad in St Petersburg next year and have to write a short letter to my future host family, and was wondering if you guys would look over it and let me know what mistakes I've made. Thank you!

Меня зовут Сара Перажин. Мне двадцать лет, и я живу в Харрисбурге, в штате Пенсильвания. Я учусь в университете Темпл, на втором курсе, на факултете русского языка.

Я хочу благодарить вас за то, чтобы позволить мне жить с вами, когда я буду в России. Я очень *******, и я буду видеть вас в сентябре!

OKAY, for those ****'s, I want to say that I am excited, but I'm not sure what word will NOT make me sound anxious, nervous, etc. Also, I'm not sure if it's normal to say "I'll see you in September" in Russian.

I'll probably have to make this longer, and say things about my interests & stuff, but that should be no problem. So, pleaase let me know what I should change here. Especially if things sound weird or inappropriate or something. Thank you!

I suppose she is addressing the whole family and not a single person. In this case "вы", "вас" etc. is not capitalized.

I don't think there is a direct way of saying that you are excited, because the most direct equivalent, возбуждена, has a lot of unwanted connotations (being sexually aroused is one of them). So you may try to rephrase this sentence a little.

Я с нетерпением жду нашей встречи в сентябре.
Я очень рада, и жду сентября, когда мы увидимся.

Also, consider "жить у вас дома" or "жить в вашей квартире" instead of "жить вместе с вами". In Russian "to live with somebody" sometimes means a domestic partnership. In this particular case it's ok, because "вами" from the lowercase "в" means plural addressees.

Don't overdo things. In this context жить вместе с вами works well and is not ambiguous at all.

I agree. The original letter had "жить с вами" and I decided to explain the ambiguity. I've written the note first, and then inserted "вместе".

First, it's взволнована, but it's not the proper word all the same; it's a sort of 'worried', 'disturbed' or something like this. Then, not буду видеть, but увижу (and I think that встречусь с вами is even better).

You should capitalize Вы only when speaking to one exact person (and also some very specific case which this for sure is not).

If Sara is writing to a family, вы should be in lower case.

Capitalizing Вы “just in case” is an example of bad taste of marketing guys who do it to “please” the reader/watcher. Using Вы when speaking to more than one person is gramatically incorrect.

I think that "Искренне ваша" is not a common phrase for letters in the modern Russian.
Probably the better form is "С уважением".

what program are you studying with?
i am in petersburg now on bard/smolny and i had to do a letter too.
the letter i wrote didn't arrive to my host family until november or so, so don't worry about it too much :)
