OT: Dim. of Russian name

Heya,

I'm sorry as this is "a little" off-topic, and I shall bow my head in shame, but I couldn't find it out any other way. I am looking for the "nickname" or "diminitive" of a Russian name. So, Ivan becomes Vanya, Aleksandr becomes Sasha - but what does Vadim turn into?

... I think that person could be called several things - I like "Vlad", mostly for the undercurrents. But Dima sounds the "nicest" so far.

I think there's a bit of a problem with this name, I woudn't call my friend Vadik, it's more like a kid's /lover's name. Like Konstantin - Kostya - Kostik, Alexander - Sasha - Sashik. I'd rather use Vadim or Vad (I have a friend who call himself Vad). Maybe it's just my impression and I'm over sensitive about that.

Vaduha (Вадюха) - it's for friend, not for kid or lover.
"Vad" sounds like V ad (В Ад) - To Hell, not perfect, but it's my personal impresion.

If for some reason you will decide to tease your friend, you can call him ВадЯн (Vadian) или ВадянОй (Vadianoi). I have a couple of friends, one of them is Vadim and the other calls him these wierd names all the time.

I really like the sound of "Vadian".... Why would that name be teasing? (But yes, I have a character who is *all* about teasing, he'll use that). Thanks!
