i'm looking for books of contemporary russian poets, with translations both gramatically sound, and poetically accurate (language of the translations somewhat conserving the poetic flow of the origional)...
for example, can anyone say how "contemporary russian poetry: a bilingual anthology" ed. gerald s. smith rates?
or
"Modern Russian Poetry: an anthology with verse translations", markov?
thanks

I went to a talk a Russian poet gave before. I can't for the life of me remember his name, but it was a really interesting talk. He was in the process of translating Séamus Heaney's works into Russian and explained how in his opinion the translation of poetry is a creative process and that he doesn't try to retain the original structure etc., rather he focuses entirely on meaning. Thought you might be interested, because I imagine the anthologies out there vary greatly.
