Mar. 3rd, 2006 06:28 pmI've been translating some citations I used in my paper. I'm not sure if I got these two right. Help, please.
1.
I'm confused about the bolded word:
(Suhih) (“The intertextual layer, even if unusually thick, is not the end but the means for the author. If everything can be, or not be, a quotation, then the .... of any amount of quotations or cultural and biographical subtexts in general, does not solve the problem of interpretation of the poema’s world as a whole”).
exposure, revelation -- as I understand the Russian word does not seem to have the same meaning when put into the sentence in English
and 2.
(Kuritsyn 297) (“The mysticism of Russia is inseparable from the boundlessness of spaces; the railroad, able to bind the boundless, to cover the country, is commeasurable and, therefore, co-mystical”)
Any comments/suggestions appreciated...
