Read my post from the beggining. You will NEVER find this letter in any kinds of text, except for the cases I already mentioned.

Since when... Well, this "problem" goes far into history. But the recent of what I can tell you about this is that our Parliament in the year of 2005 had a discussion on this letter's future. They decided to live it just as "formal" letter and never use it in official texts. Is that enough of an argument?

>there is an etiquette in normal Russian texts of any kind (especially newspapers, literature etc.), so the use of this letter just shows people how much you don't respect that etiquette

Direct lie, misinterpretation, or simply irresponsible idle chatter.

For example, "our Parliament" (the State Duma of Russian Federation) had never discussed that letter. Even the infamous Law On The Russian Language (http://spravka.gramota.ru/offdocs.html?id=342) (which is still a project, it is not signed by the President) does not mention the letter ё at all.

Yes, you're right, my mistake. This kind of law never was discussed.

Read my quote from the beginning. I don't argue that "ё" is not used and it become common to substantiate it with "е". It's a fact, it's true, I do it myself everyday ;-)

But it's not the case to be "annoyed" for "intelligent and educated people". I was surprised only by this.

(btw, link (http://www.artlebedev.ru/kovodstvo/119/) about that "ё".)
