Line from a song.

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new to learning Russian. I've been listening to this song which has a line at the beginning I don't really understand. I believe the line goes "Если ви меня лювите то даваете". What does it mean? I get that the first half reads "If you love me", but I don't really understand how то даваете would contribute to the meaning. Help?

context, pls. "Если ви меня лювите то даваете" - is not correct grammatically. It\s impossible to understand the meaning of this line.

May be "Если вы меня любите, то дайте..." This line should be continued by "мне что-то" (smth to me), for exemple. Which means "If you love me, give me smth")

May be "Если вы меня любите, то давайте..." This line should be continued by "что-то делать/сделаем" (to do smth). Which means "If you love me, let's do smth")

I think it's "то давайте делаем ето", which would mean... "let's do it"? Whatever 'it' is...

Most likely it's "давайте" - "let's ...".
The meaning depends on what follows it.

I guess, it means: "If you love me, let's ..." The line is incomplete.
It's "давайте", no "даваете"

I thought "Есди бы" meant it would go something more like, "If you would love me, let's..." in the more "I wish it would happen, but it probably won't" sense?

It was вы rather than бы, and the conditional (Есди бы) always uses a past tense verb, even if the meaning isn't in the past.

I think I should have gotten a hint from the way the whole of the next line was nothing but "давай" repeated over and over again... *headdesks* :D

The song is "Love Me Love Me" by Arsenium, it is in English (except for the random insertion of the song 'Kalinka' into it... I have no idea why either). The line was from a rap at the beginning of one of the remixes. So. sleazy.

Ahhh, you had to pick two English verbs with funny past tense forms... it's 'shot' and 'hit' in past tense. More commonly people would say "I was right on target"... well since I learnt some Russian today I suppose I should teach some English back. :D
