learn_russianI saw someone post earlier about the word «здорово» meaning something equivalent to “cool” in Russian … are there any other good words with the same meaning? :)

It is much older than English-derived slang of the sixties, comes from the lingo of офени - Russian travelling salesmen of old - and is related to клевать (to bite, as in fishing: "клёвое место" - место, где хорошо клюёт рыба, a place where there is a good fishing, i.e. trade, the fish bite well, i.e. the people buy the goods well)

For example:
Я сдал экзамен на 5! - Офигеть! (I got A for exam! - Great!) if the teacher is very strict and it's almost impossible to get a good mark.
But it can be as well
У меня собака убежала! - Офигеть! (I've lost my dog! - |Sorry/I can't believe|)
And of course a lot of obscene synonyms like охуеть, охереть, охренеть, опупеть etc.
