Can someone tell me what the word проподать means? One of my Russian friends used it, and I thought he meant пропадать, but that wasn't the case. It's not in my dictionary; help!
It's пропадать, but written with mistake for purpose. There was a cummunity called падонки who used distorted and offensive words, then they made their way to the Russian-speakin LJ. Main resource of падонки is http://www.udaff.com/
Sadly, I can't access this website. Sounds interesting though! Can you explain what you meant a little further? I didn't think that пропадать was offensive....
Good point... i'm not sure. He used it twice, in two different conversations. It's kinda funny to be a Russian student trying to deal with a spelling mistakes from a Russian:-)
Yep, and that word makes perfect sense in context. But this person insists on spelling it "проподать." :-) Ой. My favorite expression with this word is Куда ты пропал(а)?
