Thinking about the verbs of motion, I find myself to not exactly understand the differences between some of the prefixes. I'll be using ходить as an example...

выходить as opposed to уходить as opposed to отходить
доходить as opposed to подходить

ходить = to go, to walk;
уходить = leave; go away / off; depart;
выходить = to go out, to get out;
доходить = to reach (on foot);
подходить = to come up, to approach;
отходить = to move away / off.

Доходить can mean "reach" in a more genal context: температура там доходила до 30 градусов.

Well, most of these words have several meaning. I guess wolfie_18 was asking about "walking"-related meanings.
