learn_russianI'm trying to translate a colloquial phrase, and perhaps one of you can help me here.
"The truth, no matter what."
That's essentially what I'm trying to get here. So, I've tried a few phrasings and decided that the closest thing that I can produce is: "правда, независимо от всего". However, I imagine that it sounds odd to the Russian ear (as most of the things I try to say). Is there a Russian equivalent to this phrase, or a better way to word what I have now?

Date: 2005-05-26 08:36 am (UTC)Besides, you can't say независимо от всего in Russian. You should say "независимо ни от чего". This is a "double negation" which is correct in Russian. "Hезависимо от всего" sounds quite unnatural.
