"word of the day" in russian

I've been trying to blog in russian to keep myself writing in russian. I have posts that are the "word of the day" but I'm not sure I'm writing "word of the day" correctly.

Well, the first two already beat me to it. Just remember that when you're declining small words with e or o, they will usually drop that letter. (genetive singulars up ahead) День - дня. Отец - отца. So on and so forth.

In the catholic tradition this is the psalm for this day. In orthodoх therminology there was this tradition for only churge culture not in civil one. "совет дня" in standart Microsoft' translation.

I am terribly sorry but I am absolutely puzzled by your comment. Maybe I'm just slow. Could you possibly explain its meaning to me or maybe translate it into Russian?
