I think, there are different standards in that.

In our sistem "единица" - normal eyesight. Higher numbers - short sight. Negative numbers - long sight.

You confuse two different things - one is acuity of vision which is between 1 (normal eyesight) and 0 (total blindness). Another thing is the lens' focal power that is 0 for normal glass, and negative or positive up to +/-8 (cylinder) and -18 to +22 (sphere). Positive number is a lens that needed to compensate short sight, negative - to compensate long sight.

I have also met with the system widely ised in the military: according to that, normal eyesight was 100 per cent and total blindness was 0 per cent. According to military medics, I was marked as 110 per cent since I could read the second (from below) row of letters in their test table. It's been a while, though (1986.)

I can't help shuddering every time I hear the slangish "по-любому", because my native dialect has a perfectly normative "всяко". :)

Anyways, "Anyways..." is better rendered in Russian as "как бы то ни было" or "так или иначе".

or simply

"Так или иначе" or "В любом случае". Sometimes you can hear colloquial "по-любому", but it's not too correct.

One might be curious about the calque "френд" - it came into being because the meaning of the English word "friend" is a little different from the Russian "друг". "Друг" implies a kind of relationship that exists primarily in real life - real trust in each other, unconditional support under most tough circumstances and so on. Therefore some people believe (and not without reason) that the name "друг" should not be wasted on some people you just met on the net, however nice they may be. :-)) Hence - "френд" and "пофрендить/зафрендить".

the way 'Anwyays' is used in conversational English, especially with younger people, I use 'короче' in Russian (literally - 'shorter'). Also can be used to mean 'get to the point', but 'короче' is a conversational term and would not be used in literature, same was as 'anyways' wouldn't be used as literary english
