Started a new community, [livejournal.com profile] panslavists

Slavic, Russian, or from elsewhere in Eastern Europe/the Balkans? Of Eastern European heritage, or simply interested in Slavic culture? This community is being established for those who care about Slavic identity, history, and future. Meet people with a similar background or location, share stories and get more in touch with your roots, or discuss current political and cultural issues confronting the Slavic people as changes take hold in Europe. Unite to celebrate our diversity and our commonalities.

Slavic Nationalism, basically.

Join up!

And feel free to post in Cyrillic or English.

Hey can I join even though I'm not ethnically Slavic in any way, and just interested in the culture/current events/language?

There's also [livejournal.com profile] balkans and a bunch of other related (though narrower) communities ;)

By the way, there's no such language as Cyrillics. Slavic maybe, but not Cyrillics. There's English, then there's Russian, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Ukrainian, Belarusan, etc. They all use cyrillic alphabet but nonetheless not necessarily are understood by everyone, so I think the language specification should be either 'English and other Slavic languages' or 'English and a list of languages', though in either case that would limit the audience of every such post only to the ones who understand the language.
