[identity profile] quem98.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] learn_russian
In Russia, I did a research project about Russian views on the United States. I interviewed 25 Russian who had lived, worked, or studies in the US for some time and asked them for their results. Below, I have posted two of my favorite questionairres translated from the Russian (I can dig the originals up.. They'fre on a disk somewhere) I thought that considering the comments that were being posted on a recent entry, it would be of more than passing interest to people.

I'd be interested in reading several of them, just to get a broader view... I think the whole thing is pretty interesting. Thanks!

O, I haven't read those yet - I will when a little more time. Very interesting! And I liked SO much your comment about living in Russia!!! (http://www.livejournal.com/community/learn_russian/54371.html?replyto=498531)
I sent it to my friend from the UK, who's been struggling at learning Russian for the last 4 years. He's been to Moscow & StPetersburg a few times & every time he found Russia strange & incredible but wonderful...
Do you have any more notes like that please? Would be great to learn what people think about my home country! :-)

Interesting topic... I was considering looking at something like this for my Year Abroad project, but I'm English and Russians tend to know more about/visit the US more than the UK. I suppose it might be a bit harder to find suitable respondents is all... The attitudes of Russians to 'the West' and vice versa make for interesting reading though, if you find the others please post em!

Thanks for sharing, things like that are always great to read!

The best I can share in that category was my teacher's obession with jeans, and how when she first came to the states that she thought all Americans were rich, since they were willing to sit on the ground in their jeans!
