Hello everyone. This is my first post although I've been looking for a while. My name is Tess. I'm from Minneapolis (grew up FL) but have traveled relatively well for my tender years. What I am writing about is that I would like to be learning Russian, but have been having trouble finding someone willing to teach me - or even just go to stores and talk to me in it, or read books or something . . . Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions? Maybe someone to introduce me to? I would love to contract someone for maybe an hour or two a week for help. None of the schools seem to have anything and I have been looking on the web to no avail. Thanks

There are quite a few Russians around here so if you were to place an ad about wanting a tutor you would probably get a response. Maybe find out when the Russian club meets and ask them if anyone would be interested in that. For a short while a few of the members indeed were offering one on one practise.
Hope that helped a bit!

Date: 2004-02-21 11:28 pm (UTC)A simple search on Google gave me tons of usefull links:
http://www.google.ca/search?q=Russian+language&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&meta=
For example, this site http://www.departments.bucknell.edu/russian/language/ has really good explanation of pronunciation rules.
Sorry, I can't be of more help - I was never really interested in studying Russian as a foreign language .. :) If I find something else useful - I will post it here.
