I'm trying to say something along the lines of: 'in conclusion, to be a student means to live both a privileged and hard life!'
The Russian I came up with is "В заключение можно сказать, что быть студентом значить как привилегированная жизнь, так трудная жизнь!"
Any help on tidying this up would be greatly appreciated, this really needs to be a punchy sentence and it just doesn't feel right as it is...

("...значит жить как привилегированной, так и трудной жизнью" doesn't sound right, because one may think you're talking about two different lives) :)

I don't fully understand what privileges do you have in mind. Depending on what you mean there could be different variants:

Словом, жизнь студента тяжела, но полна преимуществ.

Словом, быть студентом -- это почётно, но трудно.

Fair point, I'm starting to realise this sentence was a bit problematic, as the meaning of privileged (in the sense I was using it) is not really possible to translate... What went before was an explanation of the advantages and disadvantages of being a student, I was trying to get across that uni students have a lot of advantages, opportunities etc, but that student life is/can be still hard!
Anyhow thanks for the help!

Perhaps возможности would work better in this context?
