Hello. I'm a new member, Andrey. I've just started studying Russian. Right now I'm learning on my own. I know a few words and the alphabet. Someone told me that Russian was a very expressive language. Does anything think this is true? I like the sound of Russian.

Just a little note to say hello.

hello and welcome.
expressive? could be... I find it very good at conveying attitudes. sometimes a combination of two or three monosyllabic particles is enough to vividly express how you feel about what you're saying.

Welcome to the community!

Feel free to ask us any questions you might come up with. That's what we're here for. :)

As for Russian being more or less expressive than English - I don't know. All languages are by nature expressive, but some might express certain things better than others. Perhaps some of our native speakers would be able to answer your question better - I see that [livejournal.com profile] yers has already tried.
