Could I ask someone to explain the cases used in this sentence please:

Я не очень люблю писателей двадцатого века
(I really don't like writers from the twentieth century)

From my poor student knowledge, писателей and века are both genitive? But I don't think thats right?

thanks.

My company has a "vocab list" of airport terms for our inbound students. I'd like to update it, because I think some of the terms are a little bit silly. Some things I haven't been able to look up in dictionaries (especially the compound words), so different translations of those would be especially helpful.

I've listed different ways of translating the essential vocabulary and am hoping you can provide feedback on the various terms. I'd like to expand this so that it's also useful for Russians traveling abroad. It would be nice to include both British and American terms, for two reasons:
1) to be useful to Brits and to learners of British English
2) to be useful to Americans who are communicating with foreigners who learned British English (the situation I am often in!)

So if you know of a British version of an American term, that is also helpful.

In the end I hope to have a short glossary of terms for travel(l)ers that can be put on a card the same size as an airline ticket, and I'd be happy to pass along copies to anyone who's interested in one.

Please keep in mind that many of the students using this brochure are new travellers, and may not even know the Russian terms for some things (which is probably why in some cases there are full definitions instead of translations).

I know this must have been asked before, but I couldn't find much info in the archive.

I'm looking for online resources (preferably interactive) for an absolute beginner of Russian.

My sister just moved to Vladimir to teach English for a year, and knows the alphabet but not much else. She has private tutor time to learn Russian, but no formal classes, and no text yet. We're shipping her my old Golosa 1 and 2, but in the meantime is there anything free, online, she can do to build basic vocab and grammar?

I've got a Russian translation of JRR Tolkien's Silmarillion I'd like to sell. I live in the States and would like to sell it for $8, plus $4 shipping (in the US; let me know if you live elsewhere and want a shipping quote). I can take PayPal from a bank account/existing balance or a money order. If you're interested, comment.
