Hi guys! Did anyone actually try to use some ironic phrases in Russian? For exemple..
1. Не смешите мои тапки..(don't make my slippers laugh)
2. Может еще и шнурки погладить? (Maybe you want me to iron your laces too?)
What is your experience?

This doesn't have much to do with the Russian language, but does anyone know of any colleges or universities in/near St. Petersburg with good art programs?

hi everyone,

i was wondering if anyone has heard of the international university in moscow. i've asked several people and not many have heard of it. i'm curious if it's a good school (at least for foreign language study), as i'm considering applying for a program located in this school through the american councils. it's a year-long program and i want to make sure i make the right choice. i know american councils programs, in general, are pretty good (from what i've heard)...but this is a fairly new school. thank you.

What is the difference between доходить до and подходить к? I tried asking my teacher but... I need more opinions. The former to me is "coming up to" and the latter "approaching." And to me, that means the same exact thing.

There's also this line from Руки Вверх that goes "может быть твоё письмо потерялось, не дошло," why дошло instead of пришло?

I was trying to look for Georgia on a general map of Russia (along its borders), and I couldn't find it. I had always thought that Georgia was spelled Георгия, but on the map it says Грузия. Is the latter the correct form, and if so, where did I get Георгия from (and no, not the state)?
