I found these websites while browsing Metafilter:

This site has a few Russian fairy tales in English, with beautiful illustrations. The writing is a little awkward, but it's still readable if you're interested.

This site has some more fairytales, but they're all in Russian. It has illustrations too. It might be good for practice.

One more Russian book with English translation (the translation is decent enough, I checked)
И.Ильф, Е.Петров "Двенадцать стульев"

One of the previous posts on translated Russian fairy tales and stories reminded me of one site that I've had bookmarked for a long time. They have a lot of Soviet-era stories for children translated into English - things that you won't find sold anywhere. Translations come with pictures from original Russian books books. Here is the site, enjoy (you will need a .rar format un-archiver to open the .rar files - I suggest you find Winrar on google)

How would one saying "Take medicine before going to sleep?"

And help with translation, please: "Ты увидишь большое дерево, которое перекинуто через пруд." "Вот он какой" "А дальше - вприпрыжку." "Крошка Енот и виду не подал, что испугался." "Он скорчил рожу." "Что такое" vs. "Что это такое?" "Он по-прежнему сидел в пруду." "Не строй рож." "Крошка Енот мчался домой со всех ног, крепко держа своих раков."

When would one use "напугал" instead of "испугал?"

And where the emphasis on Енот?

And in the story, I don't understand why they didn't use instrumental in some parts, but yes in others (I've learned that you're supposed to use instr. in these cases), when saying "Крошка Енот был маленьким/маленький, но храбрым/храбрый."
